Leigh's presentation will focus on the basics of estate planning, explaining the documents needed for assetprotection, health care and end of life decisions. These documents include the will or trust, durablepower of attorney and designation of health care surrogate and advance directive (also know as the “living will.”) This will be broken down into concepts that are relatable and easy to understand. She will also give an overview of the probate process and some steps that can be taken to avoid that process.
Lynn will also touch on some of the issues involved when business owners become incapacitated or pass away. These issues are often overlooked when setting up a business, but can have a devastating impact if estate planning is not part of that process. Although she cannot give specific legal advice, time will be reserved for general questions and answers .
