Job Description
The Alachua County Sheriff's Office is currently seeking interested and qualified candidates for the position described below. As a condition of employment, employees are required to participate in the payroll direct deposit program. HOURS: Full time, 8-hour shifts.

SALARY: $15.35/hourly. Educational incentive pay, $996 Associates Degree, $2,004 Bachelor’s Degree, $2,496 Master’s Degree. 1% above base pay up to 10% for prior experience.

DESCRIPTION: Advanced technical and clerical position responsible for providing assistance to the Programs Manager and the Programs Unit. The Programs Assistant is responsible for duties such as coordination of inmate activities, inmate supplies, and providing necessary statistical information.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Classification Supervisor. Performance is evaluated through observation, results obtained, oral/written reports and employee performance appraisals.

REQUIREMENTS: To submit an application:
 Must be at least 18 years of age
 High school diploma/GED
 Must use good judgement, demonstrate good communication skills, and show an ability to work in a positive manner with colleagues and           inmates
 Must be organized and be able to multi-task
 Any combination of education and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with the inmate     population and programs within the Criminal Justice System
 Must successfully achieve the minimum passing score on the Clerical Test or any additional test deemed appropriate
 Be of good moral character; Must not have any felony or misdemeanor convictions involving moral character, perjury or false statements

SELECTION: The most qualified applicants who pass the Clerical Test will be scheduled for an oral board interview with representatives of the Sheriff’s Office. Selected applicants must successfully complete the requirements of a conditional employment offer, a pre-employment background investigation, polygraph, drug screening, physical examination, and psychological evaluation.
