Position Summary
  • Read construction plans and specifications.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications for construction control purposes.
  • Provide daily observation of construction activities and document activities on required reports/forms.
  • Work cooperatively with others
  • Review the application of materials including asphalt, concrete and earthwork for conformance with specifications and industry standards.
  • Inspect roadway and structures for conformance to plans and specifications.
  • Monitor and inspect traffic control and erosion control devices.
  • Perform accurate calculations and computations.
  • Review contractor submittals for conformance to project documents and specifications.
  • Document and immediately report any non-conformance actions and safety violations.

Key experience, skills and qualifications
Two years of experience in field engineering work
Knowledge of:
                Construction Practices and techniques
                Methods and materials used for civil construction projects
                Principles and practices of project management and supervision
                Strong Communication Skills
FDOT CTQP Certifications (Preferred) in
                Earthwork Construction Inspection Level 1 (Level 2 a plus)
                Asphalt Paving Level 1 (Level 2 a plus)
                Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (AMOT a plus)
Must pass mandatory DMV check
