Job Description

The Alachua County Sheriff's Office (ACSO) is currently seeking interested and qualified candidates for the position described below. As a condition of employment, employees are required to participate in the payroll direct deposit program. HOURS: Full time, possibly some after hours, weekends and/or holidays. (On-call for emergencies).

SALARY: Salary: $64,869-$103,703/annually. Plus educational incentive: $996 for Associates Degree, $2,004 for Bachelor’s Degree, $2,496 for Master Degree. Bi-weekly pay period.

DESCRIPTION: Highly responsible managerial and administrative work directing the activities, functions, and personnel of the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) Fleet Unit, Evidence Section, and Property/Facilities Unit. This position oversees the planning of fleet change-over and coordinates the support and maintenance of the agency’s Evidence section and Property/Facilities unit. Work involves coordinating, delegating, planning, budgeting, observing, communicating, decision making, problem solving, and supervising personnel. This position approves requisitions, monitors budgets, and approves invoices for payment.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Chief of Staff of the Department of Administrative Services. Performance is evaluated through conferences, observation, results obtained, appropriate employee performance appraisals, and oral/written reports.

REQUIREMENTS: To submit an application:
 Current, valid Florida driver’s license
 Bachelor’s Degree preferred
 Degree Preferred in Law Enforcement, Public Administration, Business Administration
 Five (5) or more years of responsible management experience in a government or law enforcement agency
 Three (3) or more years of supervisory experience
 Must successfully pass any ACSO prescreening tests or examinations
 Working knowledge of clerical practices and office machines, computers and programs to include Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
 Any combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities shall be considered
 Be of good moral character, have no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions involving moral character, perjury or false statements
 No tattoos that depict violence, gang affiliation, illegal substance or activities
