RTI Surgical is global, industry-leading private label OEM with expertise in allograft, xenograft and synthetic-based implants. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Donor Information Supervisor leads the team with excellence, effective communication, steady leadership, and a good attitude. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of Donor Information Associates and act as department lead in the absence of other leadership
  • Actively support staff success by facilitating one-on-one meetings, providing data driven feedback, identifying opportunities for growth and continuous coaching
  • Drive departmental process improvements to increase efficiencies and quality of work 
  • Oversee timely review/release of donor medical charts, monitor overall chart cycle time and departmental workload
  • Develop, monitor and provide training to new hires and continued training for entire department
  • Trouble-shoot problems and resolve issues as they arise
  • Conduct review of donor charts and disposition donors in electronic system for release into production, rejection or response to Medical Directors’ requests for additional information
  • Liaise with both internal and external customers to provide requested donor related information and/or resolve issues
  • Assist department leadership in ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, standards, company policies and departmental procedures
  • Monitor Medical Directors’ rejection/request patterns and provide feedback to Donor Services
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to develop and maintain SOPs, Work Instructions and other documentation pertaining to the Donor Information process
  • Participate in other quality functions; complaint investigations, CAPAs and internal/external audits
  • Support company and departmental quality and business objectives and initiatives
  • Coordinate staff scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage for the department
  • Provide information to develop and monitor quality and business metrics as requested

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • AA degree with 3 years medical records experience preferred, equivalent education / experience combination considered
  • At least one year of chart review experience within an OPO, processor or organ/tissue governing entity 
  • Minimum 3 years quality assurance, regulatory affairs or other related experience with a tissue, medical device or drug company, or a healthcare provider preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required
  • AATB CTBS certification required, or must be obtained within two years of being within role
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations and AATB standards related to tissue donor suitability required  
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required

 

Physical Requirements:

Light work:  Physically handle objects up to 20 lbs. occasionally.

 

Work Environment:

Remote work requires periodic travel, an office setting that provides privacy, limits distractions, and has internet with adequate speed for video conferencing. 

 

On-site employees work in an open layout with assigned workstation or office.

 

Schedule flexibility required to accommodate extended work days.
