SIMEDHealth is currently looking for a Full Time Medical Records Clerk to join us in our Gainesville, FL office.
The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for day to day preparation and maintenance of all medical records.
This includes medical records requests, scanning documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) and
handling of requests for patient records from outside clinics. Our Medical Records Clerks are required to have
an exceptional knowledge of HIPAA to ensure patient privacy, be diligent about confidentiality, and have exceptional
organizational and computer skills.
Qualified candidates will have:
High school diploma or equivalency REQUIRED
Attention to detail, ability to follow through
Completion of an accredited medical records training program PREFERRED
Experience in a medical records position may substitute for education
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products REQUIRED
Intergy or other electronic health record experience PREFERRED
1 – 2 years in medical or hospital setting PREFERRED
The following are some of the duties which may be required of you as a Medical Records Clerk:
Knowledge & Understanding of HIPAA
Knowledge & Understanding of Medical Records Rights to Access Policy
Knowledge of processing medical records requests (General)
Knowledge of processing subpoenas
Accurate copying and provision of medical records
Demonstrates organizational skills
Knowledge of how to research old medical records (storage)
Understands and is knowledgeable of required patient forms (consent for treatment, etc…)
Understands and demonstrates proficiency in scanning charts and medical documentation into charts.
Understands and invoices for medical records appropriately
