First Care - Gainesville, FL - Full Time

SIMEDHealth is currently looking for an Occupational Medicine Coordinator to join us in the
First Care/Urgent Care Office in our Gainesville, FL office location.  

The Occupational Medicine Coordinator provides complete coordination of all Work Comp cases and provides support
 between the patient, physicians and third party administrators (Nurse Case Managers, Insurers, Employers, Attorneys, etc.)
The Occupational Medicine Coordinator will market First Care's services to local companies.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent REQUIRED
  • AA or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business or other related field PREFERRED
  • Relevant work experience may substitute for education
  • Excellent customer service skills REQUIRED
  • 3-5 years experience in Worker's compensation PREFERRED
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Worker's Compensation laws for the State of Florida, OSHA, FMLA, HIPAA, ADA,                                                                                                                                              DOT and other regulations PREFERRED

The following are some of the duties which may be required of you as a Clinic Assistant. Duties are assigned based on the
clinic need and not all may be applicable.

  • Coordinate special projects or medical services to be provided off-site
  • Assist A/R department with billing issues or if they require additional documentation in order to process claims
  • Review superbills from previous day and forward to posting department
  • Create new and update existing company flow sheets.  Contact new companies either by phone or in person to obtain                                                                                                                                           information for flow sheet
  • Update existing companies of new or expanded services offered by First Care
  • Notify all staff members of new company business
  • Produce reports and monitor company account activity monthly for delinquent accounts
  • Assist staff members with questions related to information on flow sheets
  • Liaison between First Care and insurance adjusters, case managers, employers, companies, and our providers
  • Process all referrals and obtain authorization if necessary.  Follow-up on pending referrals
  • Accept phone calls from new businesses wanting to establish a relationship with First Care for medical services
  • Insurance company credentialing
  • Daily reporting of DOT examinations to the National Registry website
  • Coordinate attorney conferences and depositions via telephone and face-to-face
  • Send out billing statements to companies First Care has medical director contracts with
  • Be aware of marketing or advertising opportunities that may be of interest to First Care
  • Attend Chamber of Commerce after-hours events and other marketing opportunities as appropriate
  • Maintain marketing packet and delete any outdated material
  • External marketing to new and existing companies
