Job Description

REPORTS TO:  General Manager/Head Housekeeper    
REQUIRED TASKS:               Jointly with the GM, AGM and Head Housekeeper, train, direct, and counsel housekeeping
                                                and laundry staff.
                                                Supervise the work activities of Room and Laundry Associates.
                                                Train new employees (rooms and laundry).
                                                Monitor housekeeping and laundry times/standards/labor daily.
                                                Daily room inspections of all rooms.  Report items in need of repair to
                                                Maintenance, Head Housekeeper and the GM/AGM.
                                                Keep an accurate inventory of linen, terry, room supplies, cleaning supplies
                                                and submit order as needed to the GM.
                                                Clean guest rooms and perform laundry duties, move furniture as needed.
                                                Clean halls, laundry area, vending area, lobby and breakfast bar area as needed.
                                                Clean the meeting room and set up as needed.
                                                Communicate effectively with the front desk on room status.
                                                Ensure that carts are clean, organized, and restocked for the next day.
                                                Responsible for complying with all company safety and security policies.
                                                Any other duties as required by the job and the GM/AGM.
                                                 Must be in neat, clean uniform with name tag and assure that the
                                                 supervised staff in also in compliance.
                                                 Knowledge of and able to communicate the Commitment Plus program to staff.
                                                 Make minor decisions with the program.
                                                  Attend Department meetings.

REQUIRED SKILLS:              Possess general housekeeping skills to provide Guests with a clean and well
                                                maintained room.
                                                Ability to communicate in a clear professional manner.
                                                Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
                                                Ability to work scheduled hours and be on time.
                                                Ability to lead by example.  Hospitable to the public
                                                Basic math skills
                                                Fluent in verbal skills and written communications in English (Spanish).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:   Ability to move from guest room to guest room with exposure to the extremes of
                                                the climate of the location.  Ability to clean floors and hard to reach areas by hand.
                                                NECK – Bending and twisting on occasion
                                                AUDITORY - Ability to read and comprehend emergency and security
                                                information including labels and directions.  Ability to communicate
                                                emergency situations to supervisor in English.  Normal conversation.
                                                HEARING - Ability to hear emergency alarms, telephone, conversation.
                                                VISION - Legal normal vision with or without accommodation.
                                                ARMS - Reaching, bending arms, light carrying, pushing, pulling.
                                                HANDS - Finger dexterity, grasping
                                                TRUNK - Bending, stooping, and squatting is required.
                                                LEGS - Normal balance, crouching or kneeling
                                                FEET – Walking and standing for periods of time.
