Job Description

Job Details

Infotech is seeking a DevOps Engineer that is passionate about creating and implementing solutions that improve the continuous deployment of web applications and services that build our nation’s road and infrastructure. If you are driving on a highway in North America, there is a good chance that Infotech software was used to build it. 88% of state transportation agencies in the U.S. use Infotech-developed software to manage their road construction projects. How’s that for impact?!

Who we are:

Infotech is a Gainesville-born pioneer of innovation. With a diverse workforce and collaborative, relaxed environment, we are committed to supporting our family of employees, customers, and community. We are known for our people-first culture and work-life flexibility - which allowed us to transition with ease to a fully remote workforce during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We were ranked No. 21 among Florida Trend’s “2020 Best Companies to Work For” in the large company category (and we’re waiting to hear the 2021 results!).

Who We Are Looking For:

As a DevOps Engineer you will support the automation and monitoring of all steps of software construction from integration, testing, and releasing to deployment and infrastructure management. Through administering AWS Networks and Linux computer systems routinely providing on-call troubleshooting, you will serve as the liaison between engineers, IT, and external cloud providers for deployment, operational efficiency, security, and business continuity.

You must have:

A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

We’d like you to have:

  • System administration experience or prior experience in DevOps
  • Experience working with cloud environments
  • Knowledge of database administration and networking
  • Strong troubleshooting/debugging skills
  • Familiarity with key concepts of Infrastructure as Code (Programmable Infrastructure)
  • Experience with Agile Software Engineering

The technical chops needed for this role:

We are currently looking for engineers familiar with using AWS and Linux, but we know that quality hires can learn new technology quickly when needed, so don’t be deterred if you’re not an expert in every single item listed below! You should have knowledge of and some experience in:

  • Cloud Environments: AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Operating systems: Linux RedHat/Centos, Amazon Linux
  • Scripting languages: Bash, Python, CloudFormation, or Terraform
  • Open source web services: Apache/Nginx
  • Security: Firewall, SSL, HTTPS, certificate management

What it’s like to be an engineer in our ITI Products department:

Our vision: As engineers, our vision is to create intuitive software that makes our customers’ jobs easier, more efficient, and less complex. We do this by being experts in the problems that they face, solving those problems in creative and elegant ways, and by always striving to be better tomorrow than we are today.

Our strategy: We focus on building high-quality software with efficiency and attention to detail. To help us do that, each engineer is a part of a product team, so you can expect regular interactions with folks from our Discovery, Customer Support, Onboarding, Product Management, and Infrastructure teams. This helps our engineers stay close to our customers’ needs while providing a pathway for effective collaboration.

Our culture: We may be biased but we have some of the most talented and unique people on our team. We are:

  • Informal and relaxed while also being ambitious and technically excellent.
  • Customer centric and solution oriented.
  • Empowering and resourceful.
  • Highly energized, communicative, and supportive.
  • Ever evolving.
