An Employee-Sponsored Program

A Program that Brings Knowledge and Smiles
The Bikes-n-Bytes Program has been a great source of fun and pride for the Jacobs (formerly CH2M) Jacksonville office. Started 17 years ago to help bridge the ?digital divide? and provide positive reinforcement for good behavior and academics, the program has included over ten schools and numerous outreach agencies in Jacksonville, and has now expanded to Gainesville? becoming a Northeast and Central Florida Program. To date, 676 bikes and 151 computers, laptops, and tablets have been donated to deserving youth at various schools, churches, youth centers, and families throughout Jacksonville and Gainesville. 

During the year, Jacobs employees work with civic leaders and school principals to identify deserving bike and computer recipients. Our staff also engage in fundraising efforts, conduct site visits to meet representatives from the organizations that will receive the donations, and coordinate delivery of the donated items.

While Bikes-n-Bytes started as a local Jacksonville program, under our employees? leadership, the program has grown to include youth in the St. Augustine, Orlando, and Gainesville areas over the past few years as well as military families.
