Name: Norman Studios Presents "The Flying Ace" at the Cade
Date: August 15, 2019
Time: 12:00 AM - 12:00 AM EDT
Event Description:

Immerse yourself in the early days of silent films and motion pictures. In the 1920's, Eagle Film City was purchased by Richard Norman and soon became Norman Studios. Located in Jacksonville, Florida, this studio rivaled the great Hollywood studios.

In addition to vintage movie theatre one-sheet posters, and vintage movie equipment, a focal point of the exhibit is The Flying Ace, a silent film inspired by the life of Bessie Coleman (the first licensed African American female pilot, and famed stunt pilot). Visitors can watch the film within the context of this exhibit.

Norman Studios? The Flying Ace will take you on a nostalgic journey back to the 1920s, and dovetails with the Cade?s new museum-wide theme of Aviation (from May 29th ? July 7th) and its Optics, Film & Photography theme (from July 10th - August 18th).

Join us to learn how film and movie-making began, and how this important art form has advanced over the past 100 years.
