CONTROLLER

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Responsible for the accounting operations of the banking unit, in cooperation with the mortgage unit accounting management. Duties include but are not limited to:
• Maintenance of an adequate comprehensive system of Internal Accounting Controls for the banking unit.
• Maintain an adequate accurate system of accounting records that meets regulatory expectations and requirements.
• Ensure the bank complies with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Regulatory Accounting Principles.
• Manage Outsourced accounting functions including vendor management.
• Oversee assigned employees and ensure their skills are adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives, within established Human Resource policies.
• Responsible for coordination with other managers the banks financial reporting systems.
• Responsible for financial reporting accuracy and monthly report decks to executives and Board.
• Responsible for timely and accurate payment of banks accounts payable.
• Responsible for timely and accurate reconciliation of all assigned accounts by assigned employees.
• Coordinates and manages allowance for credit loss process. (ACL) Owns the software system that drives ACL process.
• Coordinates provision of financial information to auditors and examiners
• Responsible for accounting BCP plan responsibilities.
• Responsible for accounting for complex derivative and securities positions.
• Coordinates with FP&A manager annual budgets and ad-hoc projections.
• Other accounting functions as may be assigned by management from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The controller is required to have a

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration
• 5+ years' experience related to a controller or similar position,
• Or equivalent business experience with a minimum of 10+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience for a bank, public accountant or equivalent organization in the Controller role for a similar or larger institution.
• Preference will be given to candidates with the Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations.
• Prior experience with Fiserv Prologue, and Syntellis Axiom, and automated ACL systems is helpful.
• Must be able to travel to other units of the bank for up to a week at the time, as well as attend approved conferences and other training outside of assigned location.
