Position for hire: Head of Construction

Job Description
We are looking for a Head of Construction to oversee all the construction efforts of our North/Central Florida division. The division is responsible for reconstruction and rehabilitation of traditional residential site-built homes and manufactured housing units (MHUs). In this role, you will be responsible for the overall success of the North/Central Florida construction department.

The current position will be in person in the Gainesville, FL office. You will be expected to have enough initiative to work side by side with the BHL Federal President and Vice President in order to build the North/Central Florida division from scratch. The candidate must be able to implement processes and workflows in order to help build a highly efficient company. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire operation, including both the construction and administrative aspects of the business.

Current Responsibilities
• Sets the initial schedule of projects and updates all template schedules.
• Management of all construction activities in the North/Central Florida region.
• Tasking of superintendents, assistant head of construction, and runners.
• Learning the client’s guidelines and regulations in order to build compliant houses
• Ensuring the overall satisfaction of the client (BDO and Florida Department of Commerce).
• Work with the procurement team to optimize all material packages.
• Vet subcontractors and monitor their early work before awarding them volume of work.
• Negotiate with subcontractors and find resolution to superintendent/Sub arguments or sub to sub issues.
• Communicate (written and verbal) progress reports to client and president on a daily or weekly basis.
• Pushing high priority projects.
• Ensure the field team is delivering the required project documentation to the director of compliance.
• Reviewing cost to complete and WIP reports to confirm projects are meeting projected margins.
• Final level of subcontractor invoice review.

Requirements and Qualifications
• 10 years of residential construction experience.

Compensation
• $90,000-$120,000/yr
• Paid time off, 401k, and Health Insurance will be offered after an initial vesting period.
• Bonuses range from 0-50% of salary based on the owner’s discretion and the profitability of the company
