Plants in Jars is a startup that teaches plant hobbyists how to do tissue culture– a method of rapidly cloning plants in a laboratory. Plants in Jars is launching a product line of plant tissue culture chemicals in March 2025 at plantsinjars.shop.

The company actively engages its audience through its YouTube channel and Instagram account, leveraging social media to educate plant hobbyists about micropropagation.

This role is perfect for an undergraduate student who is interested in marketing and social media management. No prior experience required.

Responsibilities:
1. Content Creation

• Create content for Instagram in Canva Pro, showcasing Plants in Jars products.
• Collaborate with our Lab Technician Intern to produce 1-2 short-form videos per week for Instagram Reels and TikTok, focusing on our current tissue culture projects.
• Write integrated ads for YouTube brand deals as needed.
• Maintain a consistent visual style across platforms, aligning with brand guidelines.

2. Strategic Planning

• Develop a content planning schedule for YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.
• Plan and schedule content in advance, adjusting strategies based on seasonal trends and product launches.

3. Analytics and Reporting

• Monitor social media metrics and analytics to track performance, identify trends, and provide insights for optimization and improvement.
