Operation Catnip is a leader in the field of community cat management, providing donation-based spay-neuter and medical care to our region’s free-roaming community cats and their caregivers. In addition, we provide clinical, surgical skills and training opportunities to veterinary students through internships, externships and our volunteer programs. The Director of Development will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising plan to meet the organization’s annual revenue goals; identify and cultivate major donor prospects including corporate and foundation donors; plan and execute special events that engage prospective donors and supporters. Manage and execute effective communication with donors and the community including media outreach. This role will directly support the Executive Director, leadership staff, and the Board of Directors. Requires on-site participation.
Starting salary range: $65,000 - $75,000.

The Director of Development will be responsible for planning, implementing and maintaining a comprehensive fundraising and development program to include: major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, planned giving and special events. This will require working closely with the Executive Director, the Board of Directors and key administrative staff when necessary to develop successful fundraising goals and strategies.
Key responsibilities will also include:
- Identify and cultivate major gifts prospects including corporate, individual and foundation donors.
- Plan and execute special events.
- Manage and execute communications with donors and media, including social media.
- Monitor, maintain and analyze fundraising data to evaluate performance; adjust strategies as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in non-profit management, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a proven track record of success in major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, and special events.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Experience working with a team.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, Board members, and volunteers.
- Experience with fundraising software and donor databases.
- A deep commitment to the mission and values of Operation Catnip.
