The Repurpose Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to innovating & building an alternative reuse retail system to protect people & the planet. We are committed to environmental, social and economic justice as well as sustainability for our planet and our organization. We are seeking a Truck Team Member to help with pick ups, deliveries and distributing items into our warehouses and stores.
Requirements:
● Excellent customer service including communication via text, email and phone
● Experience driving a box truck and trailers
● Experience moving large items safely with hand trucks, dollies, and moving blankets
● Ability to repeatedly lift 80 lbs (required)
● Perfect driving record (strongly preferred)
● Comfortable working collaboratively with members of other teams and stores
● Ability and willingness to withstand heat, cold, dirt, and unexpected challenges
● Ability and willingness to learn and use technology, such as smartphones, Slack, Google Maps, Google Suite, our Point of Sale software, and GPS pickups app
● Weekend availability
● Strong preference for applicants who anticipate staying with us for a year or longer. We want someone who’s interested in building this organization with us over the long term.
In this role:
● Providing courteous customer service to our diverse clientele is a must.
● Most days you will drive a box truck or trailer to move reusable materials to and from customers homes and between Repurpose Project’s three locations.
● Donation pickups are often the first interaction a customer has with our organization. You will be the face of our organization interfacing with customers in their homes and businesses.
● You’ll be responsible for safely moving materials using protective gear to avoid both injury and damage to the materials.
● You will help process, sort and warehouse the donated materials as well as other duties as needed.
● You will help people understand our mission and why we are working hard to build a local circular economy, encouraging donations and advocating for buying used.
