We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team and contribute to our mission of providing exceptional home infusion and specialty pharmacy services. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care, attention to detail, and strong compounding skills. As a Compounding Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting pharmacists in providing patient care and ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of medications. Your experience compounding sterile preparations, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and commitment to patient service will contribute to the overall success of our pharmacy operations.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare compounded sterile preparations accurately and efficiently according to established procedures and guidelines and under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Perform calculations for medication dosages and compounding preparations.
  • Maintain aseptic techniques and sterility of the compounding area and equipment.
  • Perform all the cleanroom maintenance activity and completion of tasks and logs related to the Pharmacy Operations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized compounding area, adhering to safety and regulatory guidelines.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on compounded medications to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Assist in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications and supplies.
  • Adhere to regulatory standards and pharmacy policies to ensure compliance and patient safety.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including medication profiles and insurance information.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate medication therapy for patients.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and medication therapy management.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers, addressing inquiries and concerns in a professional manner.
  • Utilize medical terminology to accurately communicate with healthcare providers and patients.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent: completion of a pharmacy technician program preferred.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) and Registration with the State Board of Pharmacy (RPhT) and with an active Technician License.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a compounding pharmacy technician, preferably in a Home Infusion or Specialty Pharmacy setting.
  • Knowledge of compounding equipment, aseptic technique, and aseptic procedures.
  • Knowledge of Pharmacy Regulations and compliance standards such as Board of Pharmacy, USP <797>, <800> etc.
  • Proficiency in medication administration and knowledge of different drug forms.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and ability to interpret prescriptions accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
  • Knowledge of aseptic technique for sterile product preparation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.

Salary: From $20.00 per hour
