Event Description:
NEW DATE! Calling all golfers! The Gainesville Arts & Parks Foundation (GAP) is looking for people who love the links and want to help local youth succeed. GAP is holding its third annual Charity Golf Scramble Friday, November 9, with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start at Ironwood Golf Course (2100 NE 39th Ave.). Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy the best Audubon International certified golf course in north central Florida. Last year, more than $13,000 was raised, which provided summer camp scholarships provided by the City of Gainesville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department for 250 Gainesville youth! During camp, campers experience action packed adventures, field trips and new learning experiences all while focusing on the Six Pillars of Character program. Campers also learn computer use, financial management, job skills and explore science through partnerships with local organizations including the Alachua Sheriff’s Office, Gainesville Police Department, University of Florida, local banks, schools and businesses.
