Event Description:
Started in 2020, The Hippodrome Theatre’s annual New Works Festival was created to support narrative voices through the development and exploration of plays in traditional and experimental formats representing the diverse landscape of artists in Florida and their stories. We support innovative, experimental or thought provoking material, formats, and styles.
 

Open to playwrights of all ages, but must reside in Florida. Scripts must be original, unproduced, and unpublished plays. Plays which have had a reading or workshops are eligible. Plays must be full-length; no less than 70 pages in length and have no more than 5 actors. Writers may submit up to two plays. Email submissions of complete scripts must be RECEIVED by noon on September 2th, 2024. For questions or submission please email hippplayfest@gmail.com

Submissions must be received by: September 27, 2024 at 12 p.m.

Winners will be announced on January 13, 2025!

Development, rehearsals, and performances will run from Feb 23 – March 1, 2025.
