Anew Ribbon Cutting

Name: Anew Ribbon Cutting
Date: August 27, 2024
Time: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM EDT
Event Description:
Join us as we celebrate Anew, the newly rebranded Created Gainesville!

Anew recognized that North Central Florida had no programs uniquely designed for victims of human trafficking to go to if they needed help and support. With Florida ranking 3rd in the nation for reported cases of human trafficking, Anew aimed to change the narrative around access to adequate care and resources for survivors of human trafficking. So in 2012, Anew (formerly Created Gainesville) set out to change the narrative around how our community responds to the overarching needs of survivors across our state.
Anew is committed to reaching and restoring lives impacted specifically by sex trafficking through a 4-prong approach which includes: survivor restoration programs, survivor outreach, youth prevention, and community awareness. Anew operates a safe home staffed 24/7 for survivors to journey towards empowered independent living, as well as: a non-residential program for those who are seeking aftercare or for any reason residential care is not feasible. Anew has reached over 3, 800 survivors and 8,000 youth since it’s establishment and there is far more work to be done with the community’s support. The reach of this organization has grown over the past few years to include assisting with cases not only across the state of Florida, but across our country, as a vetted member of 2 national referral agencies for Human Trafficking.
There will be tours, giveaways, speeches, coffee and cupcakes!
The ribbon cutting ceremony will commence at 5:30 PM.
