Event Description:
Join us as we celebrate CDS Family & Behavioral Health Services new Youth Shelter. This new shelter is the culmination of a statewide partnership involving the Florida Senate and House, the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, the Florida Network of Youth and Family Services, and the support of the Greater Gainesville Chamber, the Florida Department of Children & Families, LSF Health Systems, the Florida Juvenile Justice Association, and others.
CDS has been serving the children, youth, families, and communities of 11 North Florida counties for the past 54 years. Their work entails operating three respite shelters (Gainesville, Lake City, and Palatka) and providing in-office and in-school behavior management, violence prevention, and substance abuse prevention education through their service region.
There will be tours, speeches, drinks, and food for this grand opening event!
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to commence at 12:45pm
