About the Presentation:
In this session you will learn:
- Intellectual property definitions
- Basis for claiming copyright or trademark protection
- Effect of registering copyright or trademark
- Application of copyright and trademark concepts in contracts
Copyright and trademark concepts are evident throughout your business, even though you may not know what they are, or you have actively done nothing to protect your rights. As soon as pen is put to paper, brush to canvas, or keyboard to screen, copyrighted works are made. As soon as names or logos are used in commerce in connection with goods or services, trademark rights are created. Proper language in contracts helps to preserve those rights. Legal registrations can strengthen those rights and help with enforcement. A basic understanding of copyright and trademark concepts will help establish, manage, and protect those rights.
