The Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce and City of Gainesville will host its second Small Business Growth Task Force Meeting on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 6pm.  The Small Business Growth Task Force is co-chaired by The Honorable Ed Braddy, Mayor of the City of Gainesville, and Tim Giuliani, President & CEO of the Gainesville Area Chamber.

The Task Force will meet to discuss the progress of the Chamber’s Small Business Growth Report recommendations, which were released in June 2013, as well as progress made since the first Task Force meeting in November 2013.

The second Task Force meeting will take place at The Commerce Building, Suite 110, 1st Floor at 300 East University Ave., Gainesville, FL 32601 (down the hall from the Gainesville Area Chamber offices).  Light refreshments will be available.

“The City of Gainesville remains committed to identifying the challenges and removing the barriers that small businesses face in our region, for we are determined to make Gainesville a city that provides opportunity for all,” said Braddy. “We will continue working with the Chamber and other business leaders in our area to make sure our local businesses can operate in a climate that offers the best opportunity to be successful.”

“The Gainesville Chamber appreciates the City of Gainesville’s dedication to growing our small business community and local economy,” said Giuliani. “The continued collaboration of this Small Business Growth Task Force provides our community a great opportunity to grow small businesses, as well as creating an environment that attracts businesses from around the world to our thriving region.”

This meeting is free and open to the public.

The Gainesville Area Chamber submitted 27 recommendations to the City of Gainesville in June 2013 as part of its Small Business Growth Report, which resulted from a gathering of over 130 small business owners, elected officials, city government staff and interested citizens in May 2013.  Click here to view the full report, which includes the recommendations to the City of Gainesville.
