Event Description:
Calling all IT employers and HR in the IT field!

Gainesville Information Technology (GIT), a program of FloridaWorks in collaboration with the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce, is hosting its quarterly employer luncheon. Come network with local HR professionals, IT employers, FloridaWorks workforce representatives and training providers in a social, casual setting on November 7th from 11:30am-1:00pm at Romano’s Macaroni Grill, 6419 W. Newberry Road.

Learn of IT talent who may be a fit for your company and of available community resources for your needs. GIT's Employer Luncheons create a collaboratory sphere, provide a source of networking and create a system of support surrounding Information Technology talent recruitment and retention in Gainesville, Florida.

This quarter, come prepared to discuss the following table topics:
  • What IT positions are you hiring for? What are the essential skills and qualifications?
  • Talk about your company culture.
  •  What IT competencies were reflected on the resumes of candidates who recently applied to your company’s IT job openings?
  • If there was one ask that the person sitting across from you could assist you with, what would it be (re: IT talent recruitment and retention)?

We are working together to build the best IT workforce in the country. We are working together to keep our talent local by sharing the wealth.

As always, we will be having Talent Trade, an opportunity for employers to review registered EFM applicants who may be the perfect fit for their company. Employers are encouraged to recommend impressive applicants for Talent Trade who may not have met specific position requirements or pre-requisites. Build our regional applicant pool to keep our talent in the Gainesville area!

Employers will have an opportunity to make “popcorn” announcements towards the close of the event. Come prepared to briefly share good news with your industry colleagues!

Register today! For more information or questions, contact Shareen Baptiste at 352.334.7100 or Shareen@GainesvilleChamber.com.
