Event Description:
Join the Greater Gainesville Young Professionals for their monthly Strive event!
This month, GGYP will be volunteering with the Alachua County Education Compact(ACEC).
The Alachua County Education Compact is mobilizing the community around education to better prepare students for higher education and sustainable careers. This collaborative initiative–which includes leaders in education, business, philanthropy, workforce development, government, parents, and families– aims to improve systemic outcomes in education by aligning the efforts of our education partners to prepare students to seize career opportunities in emerging industries.
Every year, ACEC hosts a College Signing Day event to celebrate graduating seniors moving on with post-secondary plans to attend a 4-year university, 2-year college, technical school or the military. Graduates will be recognized individually on stage, presented with a certificate, a pennant of the school or entity they will be attending and signed on the college signing board. This event is free for graduating students in Alachua county and we won't be able to put it on without your help!
We need:
2 volunteers to help with setup 5pm-7pm
2 volunteers to help with registration 6:30pm-7:30pm
2 volunteers to help with certificate distribution 6:30pm-8pm
2 volunteers to help with clean up 8pm-9pm
