Name: LifeSouth's "What Colors Do You Bleed?" blood drive
Date: January 20, 2020
Time: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST
Event Description:
Battle of the blood donors: Cats vs. Gators

Fans in Gainesville and Lexington will have a chance to show their school spirit in the annual “What Colors Do You Bleed?” blood drive challenge.
The contest pits the blood donors in Gainesville and LifeSouth Community Blood Centers against the blood donors in Lexington and Kentucky Blood Center, January 20-24. Whichever team draws the most donors earns bragging rights for the year.
Blood donors can participate at either LifeSouth donor centers in Gainesville, 1221 NW 13th St. or 4039 Newberry Road, and at all on-campus blood drives during the week of Jan. 20-24. The goal is to donate more blood than the Kentucky fans in Lexington. All blood donors will receive a limited edition long sleeve t-shirt.
“Lexington is whole lot bigger than Gainesville, so we’re kind of underdogs in this fight, but we hope the Rowdy Reptiles can help us pull this out,” said Lorrie Woods, LifeSouth’s North Florida District Director.
Anyone 17 or older (16 with parental permission), weighing a minimum of 110 pounds and in good health is eligible to donate. A photo ID is also required. Call (352) 334-1000 for more information or visit LifeSouth at www.lifesouth.org.
