Event Description:

Willy's is a fast casual restaurant specializing in made-from-scratch California-style burritos. All of the food is made from the freshest ingredients every day and is presented in a way that encourages Guests to custom make their own meals. These huge burritos originated in the fields of California, where day laborers would roll their food into flour tortillas to save space in their lunch sacks. Eventually, an enterprising man decided to open the very first "tacqueria" - or burrito joint - and business was so good that tacquerias popped up all over the West Coast. In the early 90's, Willy was living in San Francisco waiting tables. He happened into a burrito joint in the Mission district and was blown away. He decided then and there that he was going to roll burritos for a living and that Atlanta was the place to do it. Next came a lot of research and planning to create his idea of the perfect burrito joint. On July 13, 1995, Willy's Mexicana Grill opened and has been serving huge authentic California-style burritos ever since. Join us for the Ribbon Cutting that includes a special appearance from Willy himself! Ribbon will be cut promptly at 11:15 am.
