Wreaths Across America

This nationally coordinated wreath laying ceremony will be held exactly at noon at all National Cemeteries and other locations in all 50 states and at 24 cemeteries on foreign soil.  Volunteers will be laying a holiday wreath on all known veteran graves on December 12th.

Wings of Dreams will be flying over at noon and lunch will be provided by Walmart following the ceremony.

Our local ceremony is also scheduled to start at noon on Saturday, Dec 12 at the Military Garden of Honor at Forest Meadows Cemetery - East ,  3700 SE Hawthorne Rd in Gainesville.  Activities include a short presentation on the mission of Wreaths Across America (Teach, Honor and Remember), recognition of special veterans, a flag folding demonstration and rifle salute followed by echo taps.  Volunteers will then be requested to come forward and place a wreath on a veterans gravesite.

Additional wreaths will be available for those wishing to place a wreath on a loved ones gravesite should they located elsewhere.. A free lunch will then be served to all attendees.

Forest Meadows Funeral Homes will be providing seating in a covered sheltered area along with assistance for those with mobility restrictions.
