About
Launched in 2009, Project YouthBuild is a 9-month educational, occupational, and leadership program for young people ages 16-24 who are not in school and have low incomes. Project YouthBuild is funded directly through a grant award from the U.S. Department of Labor. Young people who attend Project YouthBuild have the opportunity to earn their high school diploma, nationally recognized construction and healthcare credentials, as well as completing a rigorous leadership program. While in Project YouthBuild, young people spend nearly half of their time constructing and renovating affordable housing for members of our local community. Successful graduates also earn an AmeriCorps Seagle Education Award that can be utilized for post-secondary education. Over 90% of Project YouthBuild graduates earn their high school diploma.
