Stop Children's Cancer was founded in 1981 by a 10-year of girl, Bonnie, diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Her vision was to raise research money to help the children and their families, so they would have a better future, Bonnie passed away in 1983 at the age of 12. Her vision continues. Begining in 1985, from the donations raised the Board of Directors stated funding researchers, equipment and projects at UF Health. To date, Stop Children's Cancer has raised over $8 million dollars. In 2007, Stop Children's Cancer Medical Advisory Board suggested changing direction by supporting Clinical Trials. From 2010 through 2023, Stop Children's Cancer will have provided over $2 million dollars to UF Health to support Clinical Trials and Research. Stop Children's Cancer is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization.
