Assembler / Production Technician

Spherion Gainesville, FL is hiring Assemblers and Production Technicians for manufacturing clients in Alachua and Newberry, FL. Temp-to-hire with excellent benefits and growth potential. Seeking detail-oriented individuals with technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints/drawings.

Location: Alachua and Newberry, FL

Schedule: FT, M-F, Primary shift 6:30 AM - 3:30 PM (Shifts may vary)

Salary: $16/hr - $20/hr DOE

  • Mechanical Assembly

  • Electrical Assembly

  • Sub Assembly

Responsibilities

  • Read and follow schematics, blueprints, wiring lists, and assembly/modification instructions.

  • Gather all required materials and equipment; check supplies.

  • Perform assembly using hand/power tools, ensuring correct fit, parts, and sub-assemblies per specs (includes large/heavy parts).

  • Take precision measurements.

  • Check tools for proper operation.

  • Ensure components and connections meet specifications.

  • Perform specialized tasks:

    • Welding

    • Operating ATE or Hudson Bay equipment

    • Advanced and basic electrical testing

    • Reworking PCB’s

    • Efficient operation of PNP machines

    • Soldering

  • Review specifications for assembly and special options.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

  • Assist and support team members.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED (technical school degree preferred).

  • Must be able to read blueprints.

  • Proven assembler experience.

  • Relevant certifications (preferred).

  • Highly Preferred: Experience with low voltage controls systems, automotive/vehicle wiring, or AC/DC equipment repair/installation.

Skills

  • Basic hand tool knowledge.

  • Highly detail-oriented.

  • Good understanding of quality control principles.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical condition.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Willingness to follow instructions.

  • Willingness to work overtime/shift work as needed.
