Job Summary: Spherion Gainesville, FL is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Financial Services for a direct-hire position with a local client, where you will ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial operations. Pay: $70,000 - $75,000/yr. + Benefits
Schedule: M - F, 8am - 5pm

Responsibilities

Lead the Finance and Business Affairs team, setting goals, planning workflow, and providing guidance.

Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and best practices.

Serve as the escalation point for complex compliance and reporting issues.

Manage and maintain the Financial Data Model (FDM), including cost centers and worktags.

Collaborate with HR and Payroll to ensure FDM consistency.

Drive process improvements and system enhancements for FDM functionality.

Develop and distribute financial and analytical reports for budgeting.

Prepare specialized budgetary and ad-hoc financial analyses.

Develop and monitor the college’s budget in collaboration with the CFO.

Monitor, research, and analyze organizational spending and budget variances.

Oversee grant and restricted fund performance, ensuring financial integrity.

Reconcile Pell Grants, Direct Loans, FSW, and SEOG monthly.

Partner with Financial Aid on relevant accounting matters.

Process payroll accounting adjustments for fund utilization.

Perform monthly reconciliation of scholarships with Financial Aid.

Maintain and monitor budgets to ensure financial control.

Ensure compliance with all applicable laws/regulations (e.g., FERPA, document retention).

Assist with data conversions and system enhancement implementations.

Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, financial management, or a related field with 4 years of professional experience in related areas (or an 8-year combination of related education and experience).

Prior supervisory experience is required.

Master’s degree in a related field preferred.

Experience working in a higher education setting is preferred.

Experience with Workday preferred.

CPA licensure preferred.

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or relevant position software.
