Spherion Gainesville, FL client seeks a detail-oriented Temp Accounting Clerk to support finance functions. Strong experience in basic accounting required, but not high-level. Great potential for perm hire!

- Location: Gainesville, FL

- Schedule: FT, M-F 8am-5pm with some flexibility

- Duration: 3-6 Months (Possible Temp-to-Perm)

- Pay: $20/hour

Responsibilities

- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate financial records (ledgers, journals, invoices, receipts).

- Transaction Processing: Verify, record, and process payments, deposits, journal entries.

- Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements; proactively fix discrepancies.

- Month/Year-End: Support timely month/year-end closing; assist Finance Manager with adjusting entries.

- Reimbursements: Coordinate/process travel/mileage requests; communicate policy/timeline clearly; suggest improvements.

- Procurement Cards: Coordinate monthly card reconciliation/allocation; ensure timely payment; communicate policy/timeline; suggest improvements.

- Analysis: Analyze financial data (trends, problems, improvements); communicate results; take ownership of corrections.

- Audit Support: Gather necessary documents for annual audit.

Skills

- Proficiency in general ledger/journal entries.

- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables a plus).

- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Munis).

- Highly accurate, detail-oriented.

- Self-starter; excellent time management.

Qualifications

- 2+ years in an accounting/bookkeeping role.

- AA/AS in Accounting/Finance or related fields. (Preferred)

- Non-profit/government fund accounting exposure. (Preferred)
